Pavlova I never could get into Vegemite, a dark colored yeast spread many Australians (I’m told) were raised on. But I could get into Pavlova. As I understand it, this meringue and cream dessert was "invented" by a chef in Perth and named after Anna Pavola upon her visit there. If anyone out there has a recipe, please send it to me!!

In addition, Australia has great steaks and fine (FINE) beer! Food is very international, at least in Sydney. I ate Thai, Vietnamese, Italian, Greek, and German food while there. I also gained a few pounds!

For you Americans that are afraid to try anything new, don’t worry. There are pleanty of McDonalds, Kentucky Fried Chickens, and Pizza Huts. In fact, I was surprised at how many American fast food establishments were in Australia!
